Rio de Janeiro, November 14 (Xinhua) — At least six people were killed and another was wounded on Friday in a shootout, allegedly between rival criminal gangs, at a party in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, local police said.

According to law enforcement, the shooting occurred in the northern district of Onóriu-Gurgel, where alleged members of the "Commando Vermelho" criminal group were holding a party.

According to initial investigation data, a rival gang, the Terceiro Comando Puru, stormed the establishment, where an intense shootout ensued.
