WUHAN, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) — A new high-speed freight train service linking Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province, and Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, was launched Saturday morning.

Trains on this line will travel at speeds of up to 350 km/h, enabling direct travel between the Central Chinese metropolis and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area transport hub.

According to Zhang Ting, Commercial Department Manager at Hankou Station of China Railway Express Co., Ltd., the Wuhan-Guangzhou freight line will primarily handle urgent cargo, such as fresh produce, biopharmaceuticals, and electronics. The trains are equipped with specialized packaging and temperature control systems to ensure cargo arrives in optimal condition.

Several high-speed freight lines have been launched previously, including the Kunming-Chengdu, Zhengzhou-Chongqing and Nanchang-Shenzhen express trains.

The launch of this new line is expected to promote the coordinated development of Central China and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. -0-
