St. Petersburg, November 14 /Xinhua/ — The new industrial policy for St. Petersburg, which will replace the program adopted in 2021, emphasizes achieving technological leadership and global competitiveness for the city's industry. This was reported by RIA Novosti on Thursday, citing the city's Committee for Industrial Policy, Innovation, and Trade.

The chairman of the aforementioned committee, Alexander Sitov, presented to the city legislative assembly deputies an updated industrial policy for St. Petersburg, which defines the development of the industry until 2030.

According to the report, the updated program adjusts approaches to implementing technological, investment, financial, foreign trade, and human resources policies. Priorities of St. Petersburg's updated industrial policy include developing the Special Economic Zone, renewing the Technopark, stimulating investment activity, creating private industrial and technology parks, and expanding support programs and the flow of federal funds.

By 2030, St. Petersburg plans to create more than 20 new industrial enterprises, 30 industrial parks and technology parks, and two technology valleys. –0–
