BEIJING, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) — Chinese Premier Li Qiang chaired an executive meeting of the State Council on Friday, outlining measures to improve the balance between supply and demand of consumer goods and further stimulate consumption.
The meeting also examined measures to implement key national strategies and strengthen security potential in key areas, the planning and promotion of which, as noted, should be carried out within the overall framework of the 15th Five-Year Plan /2026-2030/ for the country's socio-economic development.
In this regard, the meeting called for improving project approval procedures, paying closer attention to investments in innovative factors and intangible assets, and promoting the development of new-quality productive forces.
The meeting emphasized the importance of improving project coordination and implementation mechanisms, as well as enhancing the quality of engineering work and safety management. Participants called for the use of capital such as ultra-long-term loans and public financing for national development, and for encouraging greater private capital participation.
Furthermore, the importance of stimulating industrial modernization by increasing consumption, as well as strengthening the integration and expansion of artificial intelligence capabilities, was emphasized. As noted at the meeting, the country must actively support businesses in expanding the supply of unique and high-quality consumer goods.
The meeting stated that additional efforts should be made to ensure that production responds promptly to individual consumer needs and that new consumption scenarios and new forms of business should be developed.
With a focus on the strategic needs of technological innovation, industrial development, and national strategies, efforts must be made to train more innovative professionals, who are urgently needed by the country, while simultaneously expanding the supply of high-quality educational resources, the meeting noted.
Participants discussed and approved draft amendments to the Trademark Law of the People's Republic of China, which will be submitted to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress for consideration. Draft amendments to the Funeral Regulations of the People's Republic of China were also discussed and approved.
