Caracas, November 14 (Xinhua) — Attacks by US forces on ships in the Caribbean Sea violate fundamental principles of international law, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil said on Thursday.

“All the principles of international law known to us were violated,” said I. Khil, referring to the actions of the United States.

He described the American operations as "heinous assassinations," arguing that the victims of the attacks had not been proven to have committed any crimes.

US actions in the Caribbean pose a threat not only to Venezuela, but also to "all humanity" and the UN system, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister added.
