BEIJING, November 13 (Xinhua) — The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) 2025 Youth Entrepreneurship Seminar, themed "Youth Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development," was recently held in Urumqi, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

According to the newspaper Zhongguo Qingnianbao (Chinese Youth), the event, organized by the All-China Youth Federation, was attended by approximately 100 youth representatives from ten SCO member states, as well as Mongolia.

The seminar participants focused on the opportunities and challenges of youth entrepreneurship, as well as cooperation in this area within the SCO. They noted that young people should actively embrace digital technologies and an innovative spirit to maximize opportunities and minimize risks. They also considered it crucial to improve young people's digital literacy and strengthen cooperation between universities in SCO countries.

During their stay in Xinjiang, young representatives from SCO countries conducted on-site visits to observe Xinjiang's practical achievements in areas such as equipment manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and smart agriculture. They also held thematic discussions and exchanged views on stimulating industrial modernization through digital technologies and their application to strengthen the potential of modern agriculture.

The seminar was held as part of the 2025 SCO Youth Camp. The SCO Youth Camp is a flagship project in the youth sector within the SCO. Since 2016, it has been successfully held nine times and has become an important platform for young people from SCO member countries, promoting friendship, achieving common development, and advancing the construction of a community with a shared future for humanity.
