XIAMEN, November 12 (Xinhua) — The China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival opened Tuesday in Xiamen, east China's Fujian Province.
This year, world cinema celebrates its 130th anniversary, and Chinese cinema its 120th. The film festival, which runs until November 15, will feature a variety of events, including film screenings, academic conferences, and the awards ceremony for the 38th Jinji Film Awards, scheduled for Saturday.
"As the global film industry enters a new digital era, we young filmmakers are ready to embrace new technologies," said young director and actor Dai Mo. "But we also understand that the soul of cinema exists beyond algorithms. We will continue to bring stories to life on screen through light and shadow, to capture time on film, and to convey genuine emotions."
The Jinji and Baihua Film Festival, organized by the All-China Literary and Art Workers' Association and the China Film Association, has been held since 1992. -0-
