Beijing, November 11 (Xinhua) — China has provided the Philippines with cash and essential aid and hopes that those affected by the recent typhoons will rebuild their homes as quickly as possible, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Tuesday.

The Philippines has been hit by several typhoons in recent times, causing significant loss of life and material damage.

“We express our sorrow for the victims, our sympathy to their families and the families of the missing, as well as the people in the affected areas,” Lin Jian said at a regular briefing for journalists.

He said that Chinese regions, in turn, are providing assistance to disaster-affected areas of the Philippines through the channels of their sister provinces.

“We hope that the victims overcome the difficulties and rebuild their homes as quickly as possible,” the official representative added. –0–
