JINAN, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) — Eight people are missing after a merchant ship and a fishing vessel collided off the coast of east China's Shandong Province on Sunday morning, local authorities confirmed.
The collision occurred around 5:00 a.m. in the waters off the city of Weihai, causing the fishing vessel to sink. As the footage shows, there were nine people on board at the time. Rescuers managed to rescue one of them, whose condition is considered stable.
Search and rescue operations are currently ongoing, involving ships and helicopters. -0-
