LA PAZ, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) — Rodrigo Paz was sworn in as constitutional president of the Plurinational State of Bolivia for the 2025-2030 term on Saturday at the Plurinational Legislative Assembly building in downtown La Paz.

The inauguration marked the official start of a new political cycle in Bolivia following the recent general elections.

R. Paz took the oath of office upon assuming office, pledging to uphold the Constitution and other laws of the country. "This place [the Legislative Assembly] has nothing to do with power; it's a mandate to serve. Five years of service await us, not power," he said.

He thanked the visiting delegations from Latin America, Europe and Asia, saying that “Bolivia is returning to the world, and the world is returning to Bolivia.”

R. Paz also stressed his confidence in the new parliament and welcomed the unanimous vote in both chambers in recent days as a “sign of movement” toward restoring institutions without insults or aggression. –0–
