The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is currently underway in Shanghai. During the event, a china.org.cn correspondent visited the Kazakhstan pavilion in the agricultural and food products zone.

Ainur Sultanalievna Amirbekova, PhD, Managing Director for Export Development at QazTrade under the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted that this year, Kazakhstani goods are presented at four exhibition venues, and the number of participating companies exceeded 100, a record figure for the country's entire history of participation in the Exhibition.

Proudly speaking about Kazakhstan's products, she highlighted key categories: the dairy industry is the country's pride. The exhibition features natural ice cream and dried camel milk—a unique product with valuable properties. Flour and pasta are Kazakhstan's calling card. Healthy eating products—chickpea, flax, and other grain products—reflect the country's commitment to sustainable development. Confectionery products combine taste, quality, and creativity: candies, marmalade, and fruit snacks made from natural ingredients with a national flavor and modern packaging design.

Kristina Kan, Commercial Director of the Kazakhstani company Dynasty Agro, reported that the company, a flaxseed oil producer located in Northern Kazakhstan, is participating in the Import Expo for the first time.

"The exhibition was superbly organized, and the Chinese side demonstrated themselves to be an incredibly hospitable and friendly organizer," the commercial director shared.

"For over 10 years, we've been exporting to countries such as Japan, Poland, Russia, Mongolia, and the United Arab Emirates. We previously supplied products to China through intermediaries, and now we hope to establish direct contacts with our Chinese partners," she said.

The company "Navryz 5" produces 100% natural juices, jams, preserves, pastes, and marinades—more than 50 types of products in total.

Company representative Djurat Urazovich Igambekov told a correspondent that this was the company's first time participating in the Import Expo and that he was very impressed with the show. He expressed hope that the Expo would help the company attract more buyers from China.

"We're looking for a distributor who will purchase our products in large quantities—railcars—and ship them to China for sale. We hope to find partners at the exhibition who can help us with deliveries here," he said.

During the exhibition, the Kazakhstan pavilion attracts a large number of visitors who inquire about specific products, negotiate with representatives of various Kazakhstani companies, and sample delicious food.

Ms. Ji, who tried the buns with butter together with her friend, said that the butter was very tender and very tasty.

Ms. Lu, a visitor to the exhibition who bought ice cream at the Kazakhstan stand, noted that Kazakhstan is a relatively close country to China, and there are similarities between the two countries in eating habits and some aspects of culture.

"Personally, I think their dairy products, pashminas, spices, scarves, and woolen goods are probably quite good. But today I just arrived at the Import Expo, and right at the entrance I saw their ice cream. I decided to start getting to know their products through taste, to see how their ice cream differs from what I've tried before," she shared.
