BEIJING, November 9 (Xinhua) — China welcomes the European Union's continued use of its influence to promptly rectify its mishandling of Nexperia, an overseas subsidiary of Chinese company Wingtech, a spokesperson for China's Ministry of Commerce said on Sunday.
The official spokesperson made the statement while commenting on a recent social media post by EU Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maroš Šefčovič regarding Nexperia.
As the official representative pointed out, it is the Dutch side that is to blame for the current disruptions in the global semiconductor supply chain and bears responsibility for them.
According to a Ministry of Commerce spokesperson, China hopes that the European side will continue to step up efforts to encourage the Netherlands to lift the measures against Nexperia as soon as possible and ensure normal supplies of the company's products.
The official added that China, in its responsible approach to ensuring the security and stability of the global semiconductor supply chain, has taken practical measures to provide exemptions for the export of eligible products intended for civilian use. –0–
