NEW YORK, November 8 (Xinhua) — The death toll from the crash of a UPS cargo plane near Louisville International Airport in Kentucky on Tuesday has risen to 14, local media reported on Friday, citing official sources.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the plane's left engine separated during takeoff, causing a "large plume of flame" to erupt from the left wing. The incident was captured on airport surveillance cameras.

A child was among the victims. As of Thursday, nine missing persons are believed to be near the crash site.

The NTSB investigation team found the plane's black boxes at the crash site on Wednesday and a major engine component on Thursday.
