Yerevan, November 8 (Xinhua) — Nearly 1,000 tons of Kazakh wheat, transiting through three countries, including Azerbaijan, have been delivered to Armenia by rail, the Armenian government press service reported on Saturday.

The transit route also passed through Russia and Georgia. This is the second train carrying a similar volume of wheat to reach Armenia via these countries. On November 6, a freight train carrying 15 cars of Russian wheat arrived in the country for the first time in nearly 30 years, passing through Azerbaijan and Georgia.

On October 21, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced that Azerbaijan had lifted all restrictions on cargo transit to Armenia through its territory. Six days later, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that Armenia was also lifting restrictions on cargo transit to Azerbaijan.
