Yerevan, November 8 /Xinhua/ — The Second Inter-University Competition-Festival of Chinese Song was held at the House of Culture of the Russian-Armenian University (RAU) in Yerevan.

The event, organized by RAU jointly with the Confucius Institute at the Bryusov State Linguistic University and with the support of the Chinese Embassy in Armenia, was attended by 11 students from the aforementioned universities, as well as Yerevan State University and the State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of Armenia.

The competition participants performed songs in Chinese, and the quality of their performances was assessed by a professional jury headed by renowned Armenian composer and People's Artist of Armenia Yervand Yerznkyan. The experts assessed the participants' pronunciation, vocal abilities, and stage presence.

The winner of the competition was Ayastan Amayakyan, a student at the V.Ya. Bryusov State Linguistic University.

RAU Vice-Rector Pargev Avetisyan noted that the competition provided a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the enchanting world of Chinese song and music, and the packed hall testifies to the great interest of Armenian youth in Chinese culture and the Chinese language.
