BEIJING, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) — Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday sent a congratulatory message to Paul Biya on his re-election as President of Cameroon.
Xi Jinping noted that China and Cameroon enjoy a traditional friendship. In recent years, the two countries have strengthened political mutual trust, achieved significant results in cooperation across various fields, and firmly support each other on issues affecting their core interests and major concerns.
He emphasized that next year will mark the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cameroon, which opens up new opportunities for advancing bilateral ties.
Xi Jinping noted that he attaches great importance to the development of Chinese-Cameroonian relations and is ready, together with P. Biya, to use the implementation of the results of the Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation as an opportunity to further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership for the benefit of the peoples of both countries. –0–
