HANGZHOU, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) — The Wuzhen Summit of the World Internet Conference 2025 opened Friday morning in Wuzhen, east China's Zhejiang Province.
This year's Wuzhen Summit was titled "Forging an Open, Collaborative, Secure, and Inclusive Future of Digital Intelligence—Building a Community of Shared Future in Cyberspace." It will feature 24 sub-forums covering topics such as China's Global Development Initiative, the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and data governance.
Noting that innovation, collaboration, and trust are key to ensuring an open, inclusive, and secure digital future, John Hoffman, CEO of GSMA, the global association of mobile operators and equipment manufacturers, emphasized at the opening ceremony: “If we get it right, we will unlock the full potential of digital technology, enriching the lives of people around the world and leaving no one behind.”
At the opening ceremony of the summit, special awards were presented to individuals and enterprises that have made outstanding contributions to the development of relevant areas related to the global Internet.
On Thursday, the 2025 World Internet Conference Awards ceremony for cutting-edge achievements in science and technology took place in Wuzhen. Awards were given to 17 globally significant projects in areas such as artificial intelligence models, intelligent internet of things, embodied artificial intelligence, and quantum computing.
