CHONGQING, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) — The China-Singapore Strategic Connectivity Demonstration Initiative celebrated its 10th anniversary in Chongqing on Friday.
According to a statement from the Chongqing Municipal Commerce Committee, over the past 10 years, 347 cooperation agreements worth a total of US$26 billion have been signed between government departments and businesses in China and Singapore, raising the level of connectivity between western China and ASEAN countries to a high level.
The initiative is the third government-to-government cooperation project between China and Singapore, following the China-Singapore Industrial Park in Suzhou in eastern China and the China-Singapore Eco-City in Tianjin in northern China.
The China-Singapore Chongqing Strategic Connectivity Demonstration Initiative, going beyond traditional park-based models and using Chongqing as the hub, is expanding its activities in four areas: financial services, aviation, transportation and logistics, and information communications.
