BEIJING, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) — China has built the world's largest healthcare system, with over 90 percent of households able to reach the nearest medical facility within 15 minutes, according to a report jointly released Friday by the Party History and Documents Institute of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the Xinhua News Agency, two high-level national think tanks.
The report, titled "A Key Milestone in the Major Achievement of China's Modernization—A Strategic Plan for China's Economic and Social Development during the 15th Five-Year Plan Period," notes that China has ensured and improved people's well-being through development. At the same time, primary healthcare institutions, such as community-level health centers and rural clinics, have begun to provide high-quality medical services, contributing to a balanced distribution of medical resources across regions.
