Kyrgyzstan exhibited for the first time at the National Pavilion at the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE), which is taking place from November 5 to 10 in Shanghai. Tilek Djumaliev, Deputy Director of the Kyrgyz Export Center, shared details of the event in an exclusive interview with China.org.cn.

According to Djumaliev, Kyrgyzstan's stand has been significantly expanded compared to previous years. The EXPO features a joint exhibit featuring 15 companies from various industries, including producers of dried fruits, alcoholic beverages (vodka and beer), carbonated beverages, energy drinks, national clothing, bakery products, and soap.

Djumaliev expressed hope for signing export contracts, attracting new partners, and increasing investment from China. He emphasized that the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway as part of the Belt and Road Initiative will enable Kyrgyzstan to become a transit hub for Central Asia. "Our goal is to establish processing and packaging of products in Kyrgyzstan for subsequent delivery to the Middle East, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the EU. To achieve this, we need Chinese partners to establish joint ventures, build factories, and logistics centers," he added.

Djumaliev also noted the importance of Shanghai as a major port city for promoting Kyrgyz products. He noted that three trading houses are already operating in China—in Urumqi, Kashgar, and Xi'an—and the creation of a similar facility in Shanghai will expand exports to all regions of the country.

The Kyrgyz representative expressed gratitude to the Chinese government and the exhibition organizers for their support and the provision of free exhibition booths. "This opens up great opportunities for us, especially given the exhibition's import focus. This is an important opportunity for us to export Kyrgyz products to China," he concluded.
