BEIJING, November 6 (Xinhua) — A delegation of school teachers from St. Petersburg visited a local school in Taiyuan City, the capital of North China's Shanxi Province, on Tuesday, where they exchanged views with their Chinese counterparts and learned about local intangible cultural heritage, according to the news portal chinanews.com.cn.
That same day, an eight-person Russian delegation visited Taonan Elementary School in Yingze District, Taiyuan City. During a meeting at the school, Russian teachers provided a detailed account of the work of schools in St. Petersburg and expressed their willingness to engage in in-depth exchanges and cooperation with Chinese schools.
Both sides exchanged pedagogical views, which, as specified in the statement, promoted cultural understanding and laid a solid foundation for future cooperation.
Following the talk, a display of a number of intangible cultural heritage items, including paper-cut figures and colorful clay sculptures, was also held. This drew enthusiastic responses from Chinese and Russian guests, who actively participated in the related interactive activities.
