JINAN, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) — From October 30 to November 3, foreign delegations visited Beijing, Qufu and Qingdao in east China's Shandong Province, and attended the 2nd meeting of the China-Central Asia Political Party Dialogue, which was held in Qingdao on November 3.
The event was attended by approximately 150 Chinese and foreign representatives, including leaders of more than 20 political parties from five Central Asian countries and diplomats from these countries accredited in China.
Madina Nurgaliyeva, Director of the Institute of Public Policy of the Amanat Party of Kazakhstan, said this was her second visit to China. Six years ago, she visited Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing. This time, Qufu made the greatest impression on many members of the delegation of Kazakhstan's political parties.
Qufu is the birthplace of the ancient Chinese thinker Confucius. The delegation visited the Temple of Confucius, the House of Confucius, and the Nishan Shengjing Cultural Park, where they learned about the life and teachings of Confucius, who lived over 2,000 years ago. Shukhrat Sharafutdinov, deputy head of the parliamentary faction of the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen – Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, visiting China for the first time, shared his impressions, saying it was wonderful to visit the Apricot Altar (Xingtan), where Confucius once taught his students.
M. Nurgalieva noted that what struck her most was that China, while paying attention to preserving its historical and cultural heritage, has the capacity for long-term strategic planning.
During the visit, the Chinese side introduced the foreign guests to the spirit of the 4th Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee held last month and the work on drafting the 15th Five-Year Plan.
Director of the Institute of World Politics of Kyrgyzstan Sheradil Baktygulov said that China's 15th Five-Year Plan is important not only for China, but for the entire Central Asian region, as China's further development will also benefit neighboring countries.
Poverty reduction has become one of the topics of common interest among representatives of political parties in Central Asian countries.
Speaking about poverty reduction efforts, Sh. Sharafutdinov noted that Uzbekistan and Central Asia as a whole are currently facing many social problems, but all of them accelerate poverty reduction.
He said they were very interested in poverty reduction work and during this trip they repeatedly asked their Chinese colleagues about China's experience in this area.
Environmental governance and protection was a key topic at this political party dialogue. Ishak Masaliev, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan, stated that many places in Central Asia face serious risks of environmental degradation, and political parties in the region need to play a role in strengthening international cooperation.
Touching on the topic of cooperation with China, M. Nurgalieva, who has worked in the information industry for a long time, noted that she prefers to view cooperation between Central Asia and China from the perspective of ordinary people.
According to her, cooperation between countries manifests itself not only in macroeconomic data such as trade volume, but also in many specific aspects of life. In particular, it has become easier to purchase products manufactured abroad, and thanks to the mutual visa-free regime, it has become more convenient to travel to other countries as a tourist. -0-
