Jerusalem, November 6 (Xinhua) — The Israeli military reported airstrikes in southern Lebanon on Thursday, after previously calling on residents of two villages to evacuate. The attacks occurred despite a fragile ceasefire.
"The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) has launched a series of strikes against Hezbollah military targets in southern Lebanon," the Israeli army said in a statement.
Earlier, IDF spokesman Avichai Adrai warned residents of the villages of Et-Taybeh and Tair Debba to evacuate before the shelling began. He later issued a similar warning to residents of another village, Ayta al-Jabal.
