During a working visit to the Samara Region, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko assessed the region's educational infrastructure. Specifically, he visited Samara National Research University named after Academician S.P. Korolev and Volga Region State College.
"The Samara Region is actively leveraging government support measures in education and science: colleges are participating in the "Professionalism" federal project of the "Youth and Children" national project, universities are participating in "Priority 2030," leading engineering schools and the National Center for Medical Sciences are operating, and a world-class campus is being created. Volga Region State College and Samara University are shining examples of how organizations participating in these large-scale programs are helping develop the region's human and technological potential, thereby contributing to achieving the goals set by President Vladimir Putin," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
Dmitry Chernyshenko visited a cyberphysical factory producing small-sized gas turbine engines and learned about cutting-edge developments created by Samara National Research University named after Academician S.P. Korolev as part of the "Priority-2030" program, the PIS, the NCMU, the student design bureau, and the artificial intelligence research center. He also spoke with the developers.
"We are actively studying and adopting the experience of successful federal projects, such as 'Advanced Engineering Schools.' This year, we decided to hold a regional selection process for engineering school status in areas such as information technology and transport technology. We support the university's research diversification toward the national technological leadership project 'New Materials and Chemistry,'" noted regional Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev.
Samara Oblast is among the top ten regions in terms of scientific and technological development.
Samara University named after Korolev is the base university of the Kuibyshev Interuniversity Student Campus. The university has over 20,000 students, including representatives from over 60 countries. Popular fields of study include aeronautical and rocket and space engineering, mechanical engineering, mathematics, and mechanics.
In 2025, the University established the Scientific Center for Unmanned Aerial Systems (NCSU) for Intelligent Unmanned Aerial Systems. The university also won this year's student design bureau competition.
"We are prepared to invest significant financial resources in creating a new environment for transforming universities into third-generation universities—innovative and technological ones. A unique advantage of the Samara campus will be its indoor and outdoor testing grounds for technologies and developments in real-world conditions," emphasized Vyacheslav Fedorishchev.
Dmitry Chernyshenko also spoke with students and staff of the Volga Region State College.
The college visited by the Deputy Prime Minister and the Governor is practically the same age as the secondary vocational education system, which celebrated its 85th anniversary this year. It was founded in 1943. In the Samara Region, the college was the first participant in the federal project "Professionalism."
In classrooms and workshops, Dmitry Chernyshenko spoke with student participants and ambassadors of the project, who have achieved significant success in their professional training and championships. The future specialists demonstrated their skills in operating CNC machines, including launching the production of commemorative products for the 85th anniversary of the SPO system, the design of which they developed themselves.
In addition, staff and students presented the region's experience in systematically organizing career guidance work with schoolchildren as part of the "Ticket to the Future" project and spoke about the work of the "Movement of the First" branch.
In conclusion, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Governor left commemorative notes at the college.
"Let the knowledge and skills of our graduates work for the benefit of the Samara Region and all of Russia!" wrote Dmitry Chernyshenko.
Dmitry Chernyshenko and Vyacheslav Fedorishchev also visited the Cathedral of the Protection of the Mother of God and met with Metropolitan Feodosiy of Samara and Novokuibyshevsk. The Samara Theological Seminary operates in the region, and the Volga Region Academy of Education and Arts named after St. Alexis, Metropolitan of Moscow, has been established.
