Haikou, November 6 (Xinhua) — China is ready to work with other countries to strengthen disaster prevention and control capabilities, enhance the role of technology in mitigating damage, and strengthen the international response to major natural disasters, Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing announced on Thursday.
Zhang Guoqing, also a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at the Belt and Road Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Prevention and Control and Emergency Management held in Sanya, Hainan Province, South China.
The Vice Premier noted that China has contributed to international cooperation in disaster response by dispatching international rescue teams and providing material resources for disaster relief.
The meeting was attended by heads and representatives of emergency management agencies from 36 countries and 11 international organizations, as well as experts and scientists in this field. –0–
