Aden, Yemen, November 5 (Xinhua) — At least 34 people were killed early Wednesday morning in a head-on collision between a long-distance bus and a minibus in Yemen's southern Abyan province, a local security official told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
According to him, a bus traveling from Saudi Arabia to the southern Yemeni port city of Aden collided with a minibus on a steep mountain pass in the Arqub region. The collision caused a fire that engulfed both vehicles, killing 31 passengers on the bus and three people in the minibus.
The section of road in the Arqub area is considered extremely dangerous due to steep climbs and descents and sharp turns. –0–
