The eighth China International Import Expo will be held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10. The arrival of exhibits from various countries is currently at a peak. On October 21, the ship "COSCO Felixstowe," which delivered exhibits for the CIIE by sea, safely arrived at Waigaoqiao Port after a month-long voyage. The cargo included such distinctive exhibits as dairy products, coconut oil, handicrafts, and others.
To date, more than 3,200 companies from over 110 countries and regions have confirmed their participation in the exhibition. The reserved exhibition space exceeds 360,000 square meters.
On October 22, Shanghai police held a press conference to present 20 measures in five areas aimed at simplifying procedures related to the CIIE. These included optimizing and improving entry and exit services, streamlining traffic management, improving ease of movement within the National Exhibition and Convention Center, streamlining registration and pass management, and other aspects.
Specifically, in the area of registration and pass management, in addition to expanding the reusability of passes, the registration deadline for the exhibition has been extended until October 31, and a "green corridor" for temporary registration has been opened.
To improve convenience, the number of electronic security checkpoints has been increased within the National Exhibition and Convention Center, reducing waiting times at the entrance. Additionally, the number of parking spaces has been increased by 5%, and arrangements have been made with nearby shopping centers to reserve parking spaces for exhibition participants.
For the first time, an electronic visa on arrival will be introduced for foreign participants at the exhibition. Companies and organizations will be able to apply for an electronic visa for invited foreign specialists. Foreign participants will be able to enter the country with an "Electronic Visa Confirmation on Arrival," enjoying benefits such as fully online application and eliminating the need for paper documents.
