Moscow, November 5 /Xinhua/ — The first joint Russian-Sri Lankan military exercise, "Wolverine Trail," took place in Sri Lanka, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
"The first joint Russian-Sri Lankan exercise, 'Wolverine Trail 2025,' is taking place at the Ground Forces Training Center in the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. The Russian side is represented by service members from the Eastern Military District," reads a statement published on the department's Telegram channel.
TASS, citing the Sri Lankan Ministry of Defense, clarified that the exercises took place from October 25 to November 4 and were aimed at strengthening military cooperation and expanding the two countries' joint counter-terrorism capabilities.
