Yerevan, November 5 /Xinhua/ — The signing of a strategic partnership agreement between Armenia and China marks a new level in the development of relations between the two countries, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in an interview with Xinhua during the Orbeli 2025 forum held in Yerevan from November 4 to 6.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the document establishing strategic partnership relations between Armenia and China mentions the Armenian government's "Crossroads of the World" initiative, aimed at opening and developing regional transport routes, and China's "Belt and Road" initiative.
"These projects have clear overlaps in content," the Prime Minister noted. He added that these common aspects open up opportunities for synergies and collaboration.
N. Pashinyan noted that Armenia's foreign policy in recent years has been built on the principles of balance and complementarity. "Our foreign policy priorities do not contradict each other; on the contrary, they complement each other. This is the essence of a balanced foreign policy," the head of the Armenian government stated. "We have a real opportunity to make Armenia a true crossroads of the world," he added.
The international forum "Orbeli 2025: Building Peace and Multilateral Cooperation" opened in Yerevan on November 4. Organized by the Armenian think tank Orbeli, the event brought together politicians, diplomats, and experts from more than 10 countries. The forum focused on peace and security in the South Caucasus, regional connectivity, and prospects for cooperation in transport and trade.
