BEIJING, November 5 (Xinhua) — This year's 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE), to be held from November 5 to 10, will be the first major economic event held by China since the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC Central Committee). The event once again demonstrates China's determination to promote high-level opening-up and share development opportunities with other countries.
In the “Proposals of the CPC Central Committee on the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development,” adopted at the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, which concluded in late October, China reaffirmed its commitment to further expanding institutional opening-up, safeguarding the multilateral trading system, and promoting the expansion of international economic flows.
In the eight years since the first CIIE was held, the Expo, by connecting international enterprises with China's vast market, has become an important bridge for foreign companies to share new partnership opportunities with China.
The 8th CIIE, boasting the largest exhibition space ever, will feature a record 4,108 companies from 138 countries and regions, including American companies that have held the largest exhibition space for seven consecutive years.
