Almaty, November 5 (Xinhua) — Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin, who is on an official visit to Kazakhstan, signed a number of bilateral documents, the Kazakh Prime Minister's press service reported on Wednesday.

The parties signed three documents on cooperation in the fields of industry, trade, economics, science, technology and culture.

O. Bektenov stated that relations between the two countries are developing steadily and are strategic in nature, with a trusting dialogue at all levels. He expressed his readiness to make every effort to ensure that relations between the countries develop intensively and on a mutually beneficial basis.

A. Turchin stated that Kazakhstan is a priority partner for Belarus in trade and economic relations. He also expressed confidence that this meeting will give additional impetus to strengthening and expanding the dialogue between Belarus and Kazakhstan, infusing it with new content.

Also, according to the Kazinform agency, the fifth meeting of the Kazakh-Belarusian Business Council was held in Astana, following which the parties signed 10 documents totaling $38.6 million.

As Murat Karimsakov, head of the Chamber of Commerce of Kazakhstan, noted, most joint ventures are localized in Kazakhstan.

Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhail Myatlikov, in turn, noted that on the sidelines of the Belarusian Prime Minister's visit, the parties intend to sign 21 agreements and contracts worth a total of approximately $160 million. –0–
