BEIJING, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) — Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday expressed condolences over the loss of life and extensive property damage caused by a hurricane in Jamaica.

In a telegram to the island nation's Governor-General, Patrick Allen, Xi Jinping, on behalf of the government and people of China, expressed grief over the victims and sincere condolences to the families of the victims, the injured, and the communities affected by the disaster.

Jamaica is a strategic partner of China, Xi Jinping emphasized. China is ready to provide assistance and support the Jamaican people in overcoming the natural disaster and quickly rebuilding their homes, he added.
