BEIJING, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) — A delegation of 85 people from the Irkutsk Municipal Model Children's Dance Ensemble "Solnyshko" (Sun) from Russia recently arrived in Daqing, Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, to hold a friendly exchange event.

According to the online portal sohu.com, the event was organized with the support of the Daqing Foreign Affairs Office, in conjunction with the Heilongjiang Business Vocational College and the Daqing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. It represents a practical example of implementing the Belt and Road Initiative and strengthening humanitarian cooperation with Russia. The Solnyshko ensemble is one of Russia's outstanding youth performing groups, boasting extensive international experience.

The delegation's first stop was a visit to the Daqing Urban Development Research and Education Base, where participants expressed a keen interest in the local culture and educational programs. At the Heilongjiang Vocational College of Business, Russian teenagers, along with Chinese faculty and students, performed classical music from both countries, drawing enthusiastic applause in an atmosphere of artistic collaboration.

Following the concert, the Russian guests viewed an exhibition of mechanical models and Chinese intangible cultural heritage, and also experienced traditional Chinese crafts, deepening their cultural identity through hands-on participation.

"It was a dialogue of souls that transcended national boundaries," noted a representative of the Daqing Foreign Affairs Office, emphasizing that the event not only created a platform for communication between the two countries' youth but also facilitated deeper collaboration in the field of vocational education.

Such exchanges reflect the solid foundation of cooperation between Heilongjiang and Russia. As a strategic hub of the northward opening-up policy, Daqing has consistently deepened people-to-people exchanges with Russia in recent years. The above-mentioned event once again showcased Daqing's industrial potential and ecological charm, contributing to the integration of the culture, education, and tourism industries in the city.
