Moscow, November 4 (Xinhua) — Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the development of transport and logistics hubs on the border with China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. This was reported on the Kremlin website, where a list of instructions following the Eastern Economic Forum was published on Tuesday.

"The Government of the Russian Federation… shall take measures to ensure the development of multimodal transport and logistics centers in the Far Eastern Federal District and to improve their efficiency," the document states.

Specifically, the discussion concerns the development of the Nizhneleninskoye-Tongjiang and Blagoveshchensk-Heihe railway bridge crossings, as well as the currently under-construction road bridge across the Tumannaya River (Tumen River in China, Tumangan in North Korea) in the direction of North Korea. The latter bridge is scheduled to become operational in 2026, and Vladimir Putin has demanded that the Russian government upgrade access roads to this crossing.

In addition, the Russian leader gave orders to develop and approve a development strategy for the Far Eastern Federal District for the period up to 2036. –0–
