BEIJING, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) — Li Hongzhong, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), on Tuesday called on China and Vietnam to encourage young people in both countries to make contributions to the development of bilateral ties.
Li Hongzhong, also a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, made the statement during a meeting in Beijing with Bui Quang Huy, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth League.
Li Hongzhong invited Vietnamese youth to undertake "red study tours" in China, which will allow young people to explore the revolutionary heritage that underlies Sino-Vietnamese friendship.
The vice chairman of the NPC Standing Committee pointed out that in accordance with the important instructions of the top leaders of the two parties and two countries on strengthening youth exchanges, the two sides should encourage young people to contribute to accelerating the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, which is of strategic significance.
Li Hongzhong also told his interlocutor about the 4th Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee.
Bui Quang Huy, for his part, expressed his readiness to deepen youth exchanges between the two countries and contribute to the development of Vietnamese-Chinese relations. –0–
