BEIJING, November 4 (Xinhua) — A China-Russia joint lab on intelligent computing for the digital economy was launched in Xiamen, east China's Fujian Province, on Monday, under the initiative of the China-Russia Research Center for Digital Economy (CRDCDE), chinanews.com.cn reported.
This laboratory, created by the KRCCE, Xiamen University, and Lomonosov Moscow State University, is a significant achievement within the framework of the special plan “International Intergovernmental Scientific and Technological Innovative Cooperation” launched by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China.
The lab's key focus will be the creation of a Sino-Russian platform for cross-media content analysis and data interaction based on trust and transparency. Its core application, the "Sino-Russian Document Assistant," will address issues such as the high cost of multilingual public opinion analysis and barriers to intercultural communication in the cross-border digital economy, as well as support the effective development of cross-border digital businesses.
The Xiamen Bureau of Industry and Information Technology (BDIIT) noted that the establishment of this laboratory fully demonstrates that BRICS cooperation in the digital economy is developing in a more pragmatic and in-depth direction. The pooling of high-quality innovative resources from China and Russia, aimed at developing a chain-based cooperation model encompassing technological research and development, commercialization, and industrial implementation, will serve as a replicable and easily disseminated successful example of scientific, technological, and innovation cooperation among BRICS countries.
As a reminder, the KRCCE is a structure created to develop cooperation between China and Russia in the areas of digital transformation, technology, and innovation. The center provides analytical, consulting, and expert services, facilitating the strengthening of partnerships between Chinese and Russian high-tech organizations.
