The winners were congratulated by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko and Minister of Education of Russia Sergei Kravtsov.
"At the International Chemistry Olympiad in Kazakhstan, all three members of the Russian team won gold medals. This is a truly outstanding result and a source of pride. Our President, Vladimir Putin, has repeatedly emphasized the importance of developing chemistry and the chemical industry. Such victories demonstrate that our country has young talents who can make a significant contribution to these areas. Congratulations to the students on their well-deserved medals! I thank their parents, teachers, and mentors for their support and contribution to their preparation. May this victory be the starting point for new discoveries and achievements," noted Dmitry Chernyshenko.
Twenty-five teams from Kazakhstan, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan, a total of 82 students, took part in the in-person competition.
The Russian national team included prize winner and winners of the All-Russian School Olympiad Pyotr Voronchenko (School on Vernadsky Prospekt, Moscow), Mikhail Panin (School No. 1535, Moscow), and Igor Ustinov (School No. 1329, Moscow). The students' success is another source of pride and an indicator of the high level of Russian education. Participating for the first time, they have already added medals to their collection of achievements. Thanks to such achievements, their peers are increasingly interested in studying natural sciences. I am confident that this result is only the beginning of their long journey in science," Education Minister Sergei Kravtsov congratulated the students.
The K. Satpayev Chemistry Olympiad was held internationally for the first time. Teams from all regions of Kazakhstan, as well as teams from Russia and Kyrgyzstan, participated. The organizers plan to expand international representation at future tournaments.
