HARBIN, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) — The ski season at the Beiji (North Pole) Resort in Beijicun Village, Mohe City, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, kicked off on Nov. 1, marking the start of a snow and ice tourism boom this winter in the province bordering Russia.
This resort is one of the northernmost open-air ski resorts in China, boasting a long ski season that delights skiers for nearly six months: from early November until mid- or late April of the following year. Here, you can not only enjoy winter sports but also immerse yourself in the beauty of snow-covered forests.
As one of the first visitors to the resort this winter, Geng Yuechao, a tourist from eastern China's Shandong Province, said the ski resorts in Mohe open earlier than many others each year, offering spacious and wide ski runs with breathtaking views and excellent visual experiences, making skiing a great experience for him.
This year, in anticipation of the upcoming season, the Beiji Resort has upgraded its infrastructure: it has built an additional ski slope, renovated its tourist service and reception center, and purchased 500 sets of winter sports equipment to better meet the needs of visitors.
Besides skiing, this resort also offers activities such as snow tug-of-war, snow soccer and snowmobiling, which attract a large number of tourists with their atmosphere of fun and excitement. -0-
