NINGBO, November 2 (Xinhua) — Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng and Russian Vice Premier Dmitry Chernyshenko jointly chaired the 29th meeting of the China-Russia Commission for the Preparation of Regular Meetings of Heads of Government in Ningbo, east China's Zhejiang Province, on Sunday.
He Lifeng pointed out that since the beginning of this year, the leaders of the two countries have reached new, important agreements on deepening bilateral strategic interaction and practical cooperation in various fields.
According to him, thanks to the personal care and direct support of the two heads of state, the mechanism of Chinese-Russian cooperation is constantly improving, exchanges are becoming increasingly closer, bilateral trade and economic cooperation is developing steadily, key projects are being consistently implemented, and cooperation in relevant areas is being carried out in an orderly manner and yielding fruitful results.
He Lifeng emphasized that China, together with Russia, intends to firmly adhere to the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, continue to promote the role of the China-Russia Commission for Preparing Regular Meetings of Heads of Government, promote mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in various fields, oppose unilateralism and trade protectionism, and jointly safeguard the multilateral trading system.
D. Chernyshenko, for his part, noted that Russian-Chinese relations are currently at their highest level ever, with practical cooperation yielding fruitful results in various areas. He stated that Russia expects to work with China to raise the level, expand areas, and unlock the potential of cooperation, giving new impetus to Russia-China relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction in the new era.
