Rosneft volunteers organized a tour of the Company's Moscow research institutes for schoolchildren from the "Movement of the First." The young activists learned about the composition of oil, the oil production process, and the unique scientific expeditions conducted by the Company.

Rosneft volunteers and the Movement of the First are implementing joint projects to promote professions in the oil production industry, as well as holding volunteering and environmental campaigns.

During the tour, specialists from Rosneft's research center introduced the children to the profession of geologist and the tasks of geological expeditions. They explained how oil is extracted and what it consists of, and also demonstrated several chemical experiments. In laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, the children learned how and through what means petroleum products are transformed into everyday items.

At the Arctic Research Center, activists were drawn to photographs from Rosneft's research expeditions. The students learned how large-scale research is planned and even had the chance to experience what it's like to be part of a northern expedition. This included a briefing on how to behave when encountering a polar bear. This polar predator is not only the Company's symbol but also a key bioindicator for the region. Leading Russian scientists have been studying its population for many years with the support of Rosneft. Young specialists discussed the movements of polar bears in the northern seas.

For 13 years, the Company has been implementing the largest Arctic scientific research program since Soviet times. During this time, more than 60 expeditions have been conducted to study glaciers, icebergs, marine and coastal zones, and rare animal and bird species. Large-scale hydrometeorological studies of the Far North have also been organized, covering all of Russia's Arctic seas. This has allowed us to collect a unique array of information on the climate, nature, and wildlife of the Arctic.
