Gyeongju, Republic of Korea, November 1, Xinhua — China is ready to work with the Republic of Korea to advance the sustainable and long-term development of the strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Saturday.
As Xi Jinping noted during talks with South Korean President Lee Zhe-meng, China and South Korea are important neighbors that cannot be separated and inseparable partners in cooperation.
According to the Chinese President, since the establishment of diplomatic relations 33 years ago, the two countries have overcome differences in social systems and ideologies, actively promoted exchanges and cooperation in all areas, achieving mutual success and common prosperity.
Facts have proven that promoting the healthy and stable development of China-South Korea relations is always the right choice, which is in line with the fundamental interests of the two peoples and meets the demands of the times, Xi Jinping noted.

China is willing to strengthen communication with the ROK, deepen cooperation, expand common interests, jointly address challenges, promote the sustainable and long-term development of the China-ROK strategic cooperative partnership, and inject more positive energy into peace and development in the region.
Xi Jinping put forward a four-point proposal to open up new prospects for China-South Korea relations.
First, the Chinese President called on the parties to strengthen strategic communication and consolidate the foundations of mutual trust.
Noting that the two sides should take a long-term view of bilateral relations, Xi called on China and the ROK to pursue common development based on mutual respect and carry out win-win cooperation, while pursuing common ground while maintaining differences.

The two sides attach great importance to combating online gaming and telecommunications fraud, the Chinese leader continued, adding that China and the Republic of Korea can establish cooperation at the bilateral and regional levels to better protect the security of the two countries' peoples and their property.
Third, Xi Jinping called for strengthening friendship between the peoples of the two countries and bringing their hearts closer together.
According to the Chinese President, China and the Republic of Korea should strengthen their management of public opinion and public sentiment, more fully disseminate positive information, curb negative trends, establish healthy and beneficial cultural and humanitarian exchanges, strengthen mutual understanding, and consolidate the social foundation of bilateral relations.
They should facilitate people-to-people contacts and encourage broader exchanges between young people, media outlets, think tanks and regions, so as to promote mutual rapprochement between the peoples of the two countries and create a favorable atmosphere for the healthy and stable development of bilateral ties, Xi added.
Fourth, the Chinese leader called on both countries to strengthen multilateral cooperation and jointly promote peace and development.
The Chinese President said that China congratulates the Republic of Korea on successfully hosting the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, adding that as China assumes the role of hosting APEC events, it stands ready to jointly advance the process of establishing a free trade area in the Asia-Pacific region and regional economic integration with all parties to build an Asia-Pacific community.
The Chinese leader pointed out that the two countries should jointly adhere to genuine multilateralism, safeguard the multilateral trading system, and push the development of global governance in a more equitable and reasonable direction.
Xi Jinping emphasized that the Proposals for Developing the 15th Five-Year Plan were reviewed and adopted at the 4th Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee.
According to the Chinese President, the Chinese economy boasts a solid foundation, numerous advantages, strong resilience, and great potential, while the supporting conditions and underlying trend of its long-term growth remain unchanged. China will steadily expand high-level opening-up and share development opportunities with countries around the world, Xi Jinping added.
