BEIJING, November 1 (Xinhua) — Chinese State Councilor Shen Yiqin and Russian Vice Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova co-chaired the 26th meeting of the China-Russia Humanitarian Cooperation Commission in Beijing on Saturday, where the two sides pledged to deepen practical cooperation in various humanitarian fields.
Shen Yiqin, co-chair of the commission from the Chinese side, said that since the 25th meeting, both sides have effectively implemented the important agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries, continuously deepened humanitarian cooperation, and organized a series of thematic events that have received a broad emotional response from the peoples of China and Russia.
She noted that various events during the China-Russia Years of Culture were vibrant and successful, elevating humanitarian cooperation to a new level. Shen Yiqin emphasized that 2026 marks the beginning of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), and the coming five years will offer new opportunities for Chinese-Russian humanitarian cooperation.
The Chinese State Councilor called on the two sides to deepen practical cooperation in various humanitarian fields, comprehensively strengthen cooperation, and make new contributions to the development of Chinese-Russian relations and the strengthening of the strong friendship between the two countries.
T. Golikova, for her part, praised the positive results achieved within the framework of the Russian-Chinese humanitarian cooperation mechanism, noting that Russia is ready to work hand in hand with China to advance practical cooperation, jointly painting a new, beautiful picture of humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.
