Gyeongju, South Korea, November 1 (Xinhua) — Chinese President Xi Jinping said here Saturday that the informal APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (APEC) will be held in Shenzhen, China, in November 2026.
China will host this important event for the third time.
Xi Jinping noted that Shenzhen is located on the Pacific coast and has transformed itself from a small, backward fishing village into a modern international metropolis over the past few decades.
He called the city's rise a miracle in the history of global development, created by the Chinese people, and an important window into China's relentless pursuit of a win-win, win-win strategy of opening up.
Xi Jinping said he looks forward to all parties meeting in Shenzhen next year to jointly discuss development plans for the Asia-Pacific region and create a bright future for it.
The leaders of the participating economies actively supported China's hosting of the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting next year. They agreed with China's philosophy as host of the meeting.
