Istanbul, October 31 (Xinhua) — Russia and China's technological partnership will develop more rapidly than their raw materials partnership. Mikhail Popov, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs' (RSPP) Committee on Scientific, Educational, and Innovation Policy, expressed this opinion in an interview with Xinhua on the sidelines of the 18th Verona Eurasian Economic Forum, which is taking place on October 30-31 in Istanbul, Turkey.

"The technological partnership between Russia and China will definitely increase in percentage terms compared to the raw materials partnership. We have a lot of skills, and you have a lot of skills. I think we'll truly find opportunities to create breakthroughs that will then allow Russia and China to shape a new market. Not to catch up, but simply to surpass. As, in fact, our Chinese colleagues have already done in many areas," he said.

M. Popov noted that Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin will visit China from November 3 to 4 with a large delegation to participate in the 30th regular meeting of the two countries' heads of government. The heads of government are expected to assess progress in bilateral cooperation and plan the next stage of collaboration. According to the Xinhua source, such regular meetings demonstrate the great mutual interest, ongoing cooperation, and genuine partnership between Russia and China.

The RSPP representative also called cooperation between China and Russia a good example of good-neighborly interstate relations. "We are able to rise above the situation and constantly move forward together, without hindering each other," he added.

M. Popov also noted that the goals set by China for the implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) for the country's socioeconomic development indicate a focus on innovative development. "Most importantly, it states that everything is oriented toward human development, which is in keeping with the spirit of Chinese and Russian philosophy. Therefore, our subsequent technological breakthroughs will be aimed at creating a truly new person, one who will have spiritual, physical, and technological development," he concluded.
