Moscow, October 31 (Xinhua) — Russian-Chinese public diplomacy should be further developed during the implementation of China's 15th Five-Year Plan. Galina Kulikova, First Deputy Chairperson of the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society (RCFS) and recipient of the Order of Friendship of the People's Republic of China, announced this on Thursday.

"We must explain to our people what the 15th Five-Year Plan is and what goals it sets," she noted in an interview with Xinhua after her lecture on "Public Diplomacy in Russian-Chinese Relations" at the Chinese Cultural Center in Moscow.

According to G. Kulikova, in the coming five-year period, China will continue its course toward high-quality development and expanding openness to the outside world. "Today, the main goal is not quantity, but quality. China is relying on development in new technological areas, a green economy, artificial intelligence, and digitalization. At the same time, the country continues its open-door policy, as without it, development is impossible," the First Deputy Chairperson of the ORCD emphasized.

G. Kulikova noted that Russian-Chinese cooperation is developing on an equal footing, and this successful experience can be applied to a broader framework. "The SCO, BRICS, and ASEAN cooperate on the principles of equality and respect for mutual interests. China provides support to African, Arab, and Latin American countries, builds ports, and develops logistics networks," she said.

G. Kulikova recalled that last year, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries celebrated its 70th anniversary. "I've known this organization my whole life, including its leaders. I was invited to the anniversary summit, which was attended by over 300 delegations from over 100 countries. I saw how much attention China places on public diplomacy. China has friends everywhere, and that's very important," she said.

According to her, China is consistently implementing initiatives in the areas of global development, global security, global civilization, and global governance. "All of this is being advanced through China's bold and prudent policies," G. Kulikova concluded.
