BEIJING, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) — Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Friday called for firmly grasping the guiding principles and major goals of China's economic and social development during the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) and making in-depth progress in implementing all major strategic tasks set for the period.
Li Qiang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, made the corresponding call at the opening of the 14th session of the Bureau of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC, presided over the opening session. The session focused on examining the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, which adopted the Proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan.
Li Qiang emphasized that it is necessary to formulate a five-year plan in accordance with the requirements set out in the above-mentioned Proposals, and to plan and specify policy measures and work instruments.
The Chinese leader called on CPPCC members to offer valuable opinions and contribute wisdom and strength to the scientific formulation of the 15th Five-Year Plan.
In his speech as chairman of the opening session, Wang Huning emphasized the importance of studying and implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee.
He called on CPPCC members to conduct in-depth consultations and exchanges and contribute wisdom and strength to promoting Chinese-style modernization.
