BEIJING, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) — China's IT software and services industry saw double-digit growth in revenue from January to September this year, official data showed.

The software and IT services industry's combined revenue for the period increased 13 percent year-on-year to 11.11 trillion yuan (about $1.57 trillion), while total profits rose 8.7 percent to 1.44 trillion yuan, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

In the first nine months, the sector's exports amounted to USD 45.94 billion, which is 6.6 percent more than a year earlier.

The IT services sector's revenue increased by 14.3 percent year-on-year to approximately 7.64 trillion yuan, accounting for 68.8 percent of the total revenue of the software and IT services industry.

In particular, revenue from cloud computing and big data services during the same period grew by 13.7 percent year-on-year to 1.16 trillion yuan. -0-
