Beijing, October 31 (Xinhua) — China's electronic information production sector demonstrated robust growth in the first three quarters of 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) reported on Friday.
As the department noted, the volume of value-added production at large industry enterprises increased by 10.9 percent year-on-year during this period, which is 4.7 percentage points higher than the figure for the country's entire manufacturing sector and indicates a positive overall trend in the industry's development.
Among the industry's main products, mobile phone production showed relatively rapid growth, reaching 1.11 billion units, while smartphone production amounted to 881 million units, showing a 1% year-on-year increase.
In the first three quarters of this year, microcomputer equipment production volume amounted to 251 million units, while integrated circuit production volume increased by 8.6 percent year-on-year to 381.9 billion units.
During the reporting period, the combined revenue of large companies in the sector grew by 8.8 percent year-on-year to 12.5 trillion yuan (about 1.76 trillion US dollars), while their combined profits increased by 12 percent to 493.8 billion yuan.
Large companies in China's electronic information production sector are defined as those with annual revenues of 20 million yuan or more. –0–
