Almaty, October 31 (Xinhua) — Military cooperation plans for 2026 were signed between the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan and the defense ministries of Russia and Belarus at the 85th meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan reported on Friday.
During the meeting, Kazakh Defense Minister Dauren Kosanov held talks with Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov. The parties discussed regional security, bilateral cooperation in military training, and military-patriotic education. They believe the talks will further strengthen the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Russia in defense and security.
D. Kosanov also met with Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin. During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
