Minsk, October 31 /Xinhua/ — Inflation in Belarus slowed in the third quarter of 2025. The press service of the National Bank of the country published the corresponding information on Friday.
In September 2025, annual consumer price growth was 7.1 percent, compared to 7.3 percent in June of this year. According to the National Bank of the country, the slowdown in inflation was facilitated by a weakening of the pro-inflationary influence of domestic factors such as consumer demand, producer price dynamics, and the current level of inflation expectations.
External price pressure has eased due to slowing inflation in Russia, amid a strengthening Belarusian ruble, and less intense growth in global prices for certain imported food products.
Less intense seasonal price movements for fruit and vegetable products led to a slowdown in consumer price growth. The slowdown in producer price movements, coupled with weakening consumer activity, contributed to a less intense price increase for certain food items, which had increased most significantly in the first half of the year (meat, milk and dairy products, and confectionery).
From the external perspective, the slowdown in inflation in Russia, coupled with the strengthening of the Belarusian ruble against the Russian ruble, as well as the more restrained dynamics of world prices for certain imported food products, had a positive impact on the dynamics of inflation processes in Belarus. –0–
